Two friends and I began a Spiritual Primer (Comprehensive Checklist) years ago out of care for our children and the children of our church. What a wonderful opportunity to use the spiritual gifts God gives as an investment in additional gifts God gives – our earthly families and our heavenly families! Praise be to God for the perfect wisdom and strength he freely offers as He meets us and listens to us whenever we call His name and for the support of friends who are all part of his perfect plan.

1. First and foremost, we begin with the study of God’s Word which confirms a firm foundation and a legacy upon which to build upon throughout life; knowing the love of God and that blessing come from learning and following His perfect will. So we start with Genesis… 🙂

2. An overview of the Bible includes the Bible’s origin, the historical timeline, Old and New Testament books, and how the significance and use of references.

3. Scripture memorization allows the Holy Spirit to bring God’s Word to conscience as decisions are made on determining and following God’s will. Starting with verses on the Attributes of God…

4. Precepts introduce Christian doctrine and the application of Scripture to everyday life.

5. Teaching children of prayer creates an awareness of God’s constant presence in their lives.

6. Opportunities for service builds empathy, compassion and faith.

7. Involvement in the Church community provides a vision of Christian life past, present and future.
